I get younger and younger women asking me about ways to rejuvenate their face. They’re interested in exploring the options of Botox and fillers, and they’ve heard a little bit about PRP.
Some have seen the videos online of Kim Kardashian having a Vampire Facelift. The type of PRP that was used to treat Kim’s face was red PRP which left her face looking like a bloody mess.
Now, the differences between platelets (PRP) and Botox and fillers is that platelets have a much longer duration of action. The benefits from having a round of platelets is around 18 to 24 months, whereas often we find with Botox and fillers, those benefits are often three to six months.
So if you’re a younger woman looking to rejuvenate your face and keep that youthful appearance, give careful consideration to PRP (platelet-rich plasma).
Nowadays, the way that we prepare the platelets eliminates all of the red blood cells, so the substance that we inject into the face is actually a clear, yellowish colored liquid. It doesn’t leave any kind of a bloody residue on your face at all. And in fact, you could go ahead and attend a social event that very evening, and nobody would really know that you’d had anything done. It would just make your face look a little bit more glowing, a little bit more rested, more youthful, better elasticity in the skin, and less fine lines and wrinkles.
